Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) is a famous American actress, singer and dancer. She started her Broadway career by performing in musicals, like Wicked, Legally Blonde and Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for the role of Essie Carmichael. She was in You Can't Take It With You. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford has spent the majority of her time working with some of the most acclaimed directors and actors across stage TV and film. She has continued to collaborate with award-winning actors on several forthcoming projects. Ashford's upcoming production will be a limited edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show premieres on November 22, and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current project includes the Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust that he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. In the form of a Hulu Original, the film will be made available to Disney DTC's platform. Ashford returns to Broadway in March 2023, in which he'll be starring alongside Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production will be held in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is conducted by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team who brought you Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, that is a re-telling of the drama in which Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the primary characters of the first ever impeachment trial in the United States. Ashford was a part of two seasons of the hit CBS comedy B Positive. Also, she was a part of the successful series that was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. She is no stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her portrayal of Essie. Other Broadway credits for Ashford includes Sunday in the Park, featuring George Wicked legally Blonde, and the role of Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded an Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been raised in Denver currently splits her time traveling between Los Angeles & New York.
